چکیده
This paper reports the results of a study concerned with air–water and air–oil two-phase flow in channels packed open-cell metal foams. The research was conducted horizontal channel an internal diameter 0.02 m length 2.61 m. analysis applied three foams pore density 20, 30, 40 PPI porosity typical for industrial applications, changing range 92–94%. experimental data were used to develop new method predicting void fraction gas–liquid A gas calculating based on drift-flux model developed. gives correct representation changes value good prediction accuracy. average relative error air is less than 13%, 86% points characterized by 20%.

We herein present results from experimental investigations and new numerical methods for the investigation of fluid flow and heat transfer in cellular solids, in particular open cell metal foams. Results from a custom made test facility contribute to enlarge the public available database of open cell metal foams and serve for the validation of applied commercial and inhouse numerical methods. متن کاملA New Void Fraction Measurement Method for Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow in Small Channels
Based on a laser diode, a 12 × 6 photodiode array sensor, and machine learning techniques, a new void fraction measurement method for gas-liquid two-phase flow in small channels is proposed. To overcome the influence of flow pattern on the void fraction measurement, the flow pattern of the two-phase flow is firstly identified by Fisher Discriminant Analysis (FDA). Then, according to the identif...
